J. Crew says this is "True to size." Linen stretches notoriously, but come on J. Crew, this is crazy inconsistent sizing even for you.

Sperry Angelfish were a fun weekend find at Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall in NY. Amazing place. Wore them out of the box for an 8-hour rainy travel day on Sunday (thanks again, Newark Delta Crown Room) and they were ultra-comfy.

These have been one of my favorite shoes, but the toes had gotten scuffed and unfortunately the red dye is only surface-deep. Boo J. Crew.

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of taking my son's adorable girlfriend Emily (a Mother's Day 2013 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, yay) shopping for the beginning of her young professional/interviews wardrobe. Hat's off to the staff of VPS's at our nearest J. Crew Factory Crewlet for helping us put together this great group, complete with some cute jewelry to add splashes of fun and color, and a pair of on-trend versatile printed jeans to help extend the usefulness of her new tops & jackets into "casual Friday" or just great weekend wear.
 
And a big big big thank you to another Emily, a/k/a @jcrewjd, who's been giving me fabulous advance behind-the-scenes advice on Crewlet wardrobing for tall girls. I'm not tall, but both of these beautiful Emilys are!

The Factory Camp Shirt in End-on-End is a dead ringer for JC's justifiably famous retail Contrast Stitch Perfect Shirt (probably the most-worn item ever in my shirt collection). Outstanding quality, TTS fit in your alpha sizing. If you missed the retail version, don't make that mistake twice and snap this one up.
 
Both Schoolboy blazers are equally fine quality. The navy Schoolboy actually has nice antique brass buttons (not the leatherette buttons shown on the website, interestingly) and the 4-season wool has a smooth hand. I actually like the Factory linen Schoolboys BETTER than the retail version (I bought this year's Belvedere Red). The linen is more fluid and consequently the jacket has more drape.
 
Finally, this navy pencil skirt (also available in khaki) is a sleeper, because it has 4 saucy pleats at the rear hemline replacing the kick-pleat, and it's made in fine cotton.

These pants are really crisp and beautiful with a lot of subtle color making them quite versatile. I love them with a chambray shirt, and they look fantastic with all things J. Crew "guava". The foulard print is on-trend again this season, too.

These gorgeous pants are old-school J. Crew quality. They have a 26" inseam, are fully lined and are made from a very substantial, fairly heavy wool in a subtle herringbone weave. Waist fastens with a covered button tab, and two rear pockets (horizontal slit style) also feature tiny covered buttons. Inner waistband is bordered in a classic bright red J. Crew "fortune cookie" ribbon border saying: "She is always cheerful and in good spirits" -- which you will be, indeed. :-)
